DSD Environmental Track Record 2008 – Resource Protection By Recycling

With its engagement in Germany´s Dual System (DSD – „The Green Dot“) ELCON for many years has been striving to reduce the use of primary resources and energy for the production of new goods, thus having relevant share in protecting our environment.
The annual DSD environmental track record has been compiled in compliance with the requirements for eco-friendly performance as per ISO 14040 and ISO 14044.
Take-back and reuse of ELCON sales packages under DSD license allowed in 2008 for emission reductions totalling to 6,098 kg carbon dioxide equivalents. This amount can be compared with the CO₂ emissions from 3 compact-class cars with an average annual mileage of 15,000 kilometres each. Again ELCON has made a sustainable contribution to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
