USB NT1+Multi Driver 1.0 ISDN Modem 1.0b6 2002-04-22 Welcome to the ELCON NT1+Multi USB Installation Application/Support This driver is applicable for the USB port of the NT1+Multi. Tests where performed with MAC OS 9.1 (German versions) on an iMac with positive results. It is not compatible with Mac OS X. If any problems apear please report to info@elcon-system.de. Installation Simply double-click the "Install ELCON NT1+Multi USB" script. It will copy the files needed for operation of the ELCON NT1+Multi USB into their proper positions inside the system folder. It is necessary to restart your computer after you have finished the installation. When the ELCON NT1+Multi USB has been used before and you want to install over a set of existing drivers, disconnect the ELCON NT1+Multi USB and quit the "ISDN Modem" control panel. The installation cannot succeed when either the driver or the control panel is in use. Further notes There is a known issue with CHAP/MS-CHAP authentication and Multilink. You may not be able to achieve a repeated connect on the second channel. This is caused by Apple PPP not responding to certain authentication requests. You should be able to run permanent Multilink by setting the activation to "always", but to use dynamic Multilink, your provider has to use PAP authentication. The included modem script "ELCON NT1+Multi USB Modem" configures the ELCON NT1+Multi USB for "transparent synchronous HDLC" operation with PPP. This is the protocol used with an overwhelming number of internet providers. Incoming calls for an AppleTalk Remote Access (ARA) server also use this configured protocol, which will operate well with regular PPP clients, but not with ARA clients or asynchronous PPP clients using X.75. In this case use the modem script "ELCON NT1+Multi USB Modem X.75".
